Seven fixes for website traffic that isn't converting to sales
This video walks through seven reasons a website gets traffic but no sales, covering ad targeting, mobile site speed, product imagery, size guides, drop-off points, product desirability, and short-form video. It gives concrete tools and examples, like Ubersuggest for speed checks and The Iconic for size guides.
The lessons
Retarget site visitors who didn't check out in the last 60 days and past customers who haven't purchased recently.
Check your mobile site speed on Ubersuggest since 80% of visitors bounce if load time exceeds three seconds.
Show products being used by humans, not just held up, especially with detailed size guides for fit-sensitive items.
Use Shopify dashboards to find where customers drop off, and fix your USP or navigation if it's on the homepage, or shipping and payment options if it's at checkout.
Add aspirational elements, media mentions, reviews, and stock scarcity badges to create desire and FOMO on your site.
Questions people ask
Why am I getting traffic but no sales on my website?
Common culprits include targeting the wrong Facebook audiences instead of retargeting past visitors, slow mobile site speed, product images that don't show items in use, and missing detailed size guides. Also check where customers drop off in Shopify's dashboard, since homepage drop-off points to USP or navigation issues while checkout drop-off usually means shipping costs or payment options.

Okay so you're getting traffic to your website but you're not making any sales. Here are seven things that you can do. Number one, you're targeting the wrong audiences on your Facebook ads. Retarget people who've been to your site but not checked out in 60 days and people who haven't purchased from you in a long time.
Number two, check your mobile site speed. Go to Ubersuggest and you can see it here. If it takes longer than three seconds to load, 80% of them bounce away. Number three, your product images probably only showcase your products.
You need to have humans using the products, not just holding it up but using them. If you sell things with sizing, the biggest question you'll get is will it fit? Make your size guides, product images and descriptions super detailed. Look at the iconic and adore beauty for amazing size guides.
Number five, check where your customers are actually dropping off. Go to Shopify dashboards and you can see them here. If they're dropping off on the homepage, you need to fix your USP, your banner, your call to action or your navigation. If they're dropping off at checkout, it's most likely your shipping costs or your lack of payment options.
Number six, make them actually want your product. It sounds obvious but right now your website is just a place where they transact. It's boring. Add aspirational elements, featured in elements, tons of reviews.
Make them have FOMO with trust badges like only four left in stock. And number seven, short form videos.
